Corum Admiral’s Cup Watch Line Gets The Black Flag And Black Hull For Piratey Good Times

Corum Admiral’s Cup Watch Line Gets The Black Flag And Black Hull For Piratey Good Times

The American Eagle on the dial, along with all its parts are also done in white gold, and mostly hand engraved. Trust that meticulous detain is involved in each part, with all imperfections being canned. The dial itself is enamel. Size wise the case is 43mm and the strap is hand stitched crocodile. Of course it comes in a nice wooden box.

I notice that Japanese luxury design embodies a lot of the manicured organic look. This is a tough concept to define, but think about the traditional art of Japanese flower arrangement. The idea is to make a natural looking display, but completely human made. A beautiful organic scene, though totally artificial. Take that concept and apply it to the design of the Galante, and it begins to make sense. The craftsmanship is very good. A bit different than European watch making, but inherently really nice. There are also all the little touches that make high end Seiko watches endearing. Look at the crown for example and notice how the teething is angled to help desired manual winding just a little bit. There is also the immaculate surfaces and polishing that should never be overlooked.

My overall feeling about this particular Nautica watch is good. Styling is attractive and not "chinsy" looking. It is about as nice as one can hope for given the price, and the looks will appeal to various taste groups.

Two Engraved Skeletonized Beauties: The Patek Philippe 'Art Piece" 5180/1 And The IWC Portuguese Tourbillon Mystère Squelette Watches Feature Articles The IWC Portuguese Tourbillon Mystère Squelette is a different type of skeletonized watch altogether. Rather than decorating a simple movement as with the Patek Philippe 5180, IWC decorated what is essentially a very complex movement; an IWC-manufactured 5000 calibre. Along with having the time and date, this watch includes a tourbillon escapement and a seven day power reserve, which is a lot for an automatic watch. There are further items of interest in the movement which represents a pinnacle of what IWC can achieve, but I will leave it at that.

Each of these watches are undeniably feminine, and obviously luxury watches with prices of ,000 plus. There is a growing subset of the luxury market that places less emphasis on formality and more on whimsy and visual interest. They are all worth checking out.

Baume & Mercier Add New Models To Its William Baume Editions: The Retrograde, Ultraflat, And Tourbillon Watches Watch Releases At Baume et Mercier (aka Baume & Mercier), the William Baume name has always applied to very classic simple watches. If you want a handsome and timeless Swiss watch that won't utterly devastate your bank account, the William Baume collection is usually a good place to look. Now, getting a bit more serious with the line, Baume et Mercier takes an interesting new direction that is almost Teutonic in design. The William Baume Retrograde, Ultraflat, and Tourbillon have a decidedly retro appeal to them from design of the lugs to the classic guilloche machine work on the dial. Each of the watches comes in a limited edition of only 178 pieces each, but the Tourbillon is limited to only 10 pieces.

The Thomas Prescher Tourbillon watches ensure that the focal point of the designs are the tourbillon cages. This is the area where the tourbillon is located. Again, a tourbillon is a rotating escapement whose idea it is to increase the accuracy of a watch, although they are mainly for show. Because this escapement is constantly moving, they are an excellent aspect of a watch to focus on. As such, the Prescher watches feature viewing windows for the flying tourbillons contained within; with a view all the way through the watch. Thomas Prescher really went to great lengths to create a new kind of flying tourbillon. One that is held in place by a single arm. On the double tourbillon the arm spins (one per a minute), and on the triple tourbillon the arm spins and rotating (once per an hour) around the tourbillon carriage. The spinning frequencies are synced to the hour and minute of the watch time itself.

The red calf leather strap features a Temption folding metal clasp, that they do really well. New "Pink Panther" Concept Watch From Virtual Ideas Is New View On Women's Luxury Watch Style The Pink Panther is really a design that needs to be viewed on a woman's wrist to be appreciated in my opinion. The elongated shape of the watch is almost vessel-like in nature, which visually extends the wrist it is worn on, an effect which is flattering. This is probably my favorite part of the watch, and looking straight at it, the body and lugs together create a shape almost creature-like and organic, thought still symmetrical. The textured face of the watch creates a depth which is inviting and mysterious. Two diamond studded orbs travel along the parallel paths indicating the time when read together. Reading the time on the Pink Panther is easy, but not precise. No matter, this is not the primary focus of the watch. It's more like a timeless showpiece than an instrument of accuracy. You'll find that most women's watches of this caliber aren't able to be read with much precision anyway. Despite this, the Pink Panther is much easier to read than most jewelry-esque women's watches, and I like that as well about this watch.

Now let's become acquainted with the three new icons that you'll begin to see on aBlogtoRead.com. Note that I am also going to slowly revisit existing articles and award the icons where appropriate.

Careful now. Rich people don't like to be offended and are overly sensitive. Can't take chances with their feeling or delicate notions of sensibility. As such, all advertising materials have to be highly copacetic with no opportunity to any type of offensive remarks.

'Survivor Man' Les Stroud Now Wearing A Tissot T-Touch Trekking Wrist Watch Feature Articles While I am not a lover of reality shows because most of them are not "real," an exception is Survivor Man on The Discovery Chanel. The idea of the show is simple. Les Stroud, a guy who has been doing nature survival shows for a long time throws himself into the wilderness for a week, and tapes it himself. No TV crews, not too much lame drama. Just a guy eating whatever he finds and looked ragged each morning. And that is what I like about it. The guy is a total man's man, without being a douche about it, and is never all high and mighty about himself. The competitor show Man vs. Wild (also on The Discovery Channel), is the opposite of this. Some ex British Special Forces guy named "Bear" who is followed around by a camera crew (that "will not feed him"). That is not a reality show, that is a farce. Coincidentally, I am pretty sure that Bear Grylls in Man v. Wild wears a yellow-faced Breitling Emergency.

Hideous Melding Of Mobile Phone, Mechanical Watches, And Painful Design: The Mobiado Professional 105GMT Gold Discovery Phone

Hideous Melding Of Mobile Phone, Mechanical Watches, And Painful Design: The Mobiado Professional 105GMT Gold Discovery Phone

This reminds me a lot of Disney, I don't know why. The already hip Casio G-Shock line is not old enough to have classics, vintage watches, and now nostalgia. These three new Casio G-Shock characters are based on three popular Casio G-Shock models from the 1980s, back when G-Shock was young and impressionable. The models are the 1987 DW-5600 (revised as the GW-5600), the 1985 DW-5500, and the 1989 G-5500 (updated as the AWG-5500 and AW-500). At this time, you can't buy the characters, but you might be lucky enough to see them at your local Casio G-Shock retailer (right now only if you are in Japan). The characters as so new that they don't even have names yet. More than likely they will be titles with boss like titles from the Mega Man game series. This is basically what they look like, which is cool! Below, you can see the watch that these characters are based on.

The Nivrel Wild Sea Chronograph Watch Cuts Through Time

The Nivrel Wild Sea Chronograph Watch Cuts Through Time

The Good:

Baume & Mercier Add New Models To Its William Baume Editions: The Retrograde, Ultraflat, And Tourbillon Watches Watch Releases Lets look at the watches individually. First is the William Baume Retrograde. The Retrograde refers to the seconds counter with only counts in 30 second increments. After reaching the end, the hand jumps to the beginning to start the process over. The watch also features a large-ish date window at the top. You'll notice that the retrograde window is purposefully applied in manner as to disrupt the natural circle of the dial a bit. This adds a rich depth and visual appeal that might be lacking otherwise, and is welcome on a guilloche machined dial. The hands of the watch are quite nice actually. They are (thankfully) not too short and taper in and out in the middle. The hand on the retrograde dial is curved like a snake. Why? Well it does look cool of course, but in concert with the constant moving of the seconds hands across the bottom an added element of motion is presented with the non linear appearing hand. Inside is the Baume et Mercier automatic caliber LP3533 movement.

Astronomical amounts
Calculations based on Customs seizures show that counterfeits and piracy worldwide amount to US$ 200 billion to 360 billion a year, or 5% to 7% of international trade. Swiss watches are no exception, as the sector is hit full-on by this modern-day plague.
The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry (FHS) estimates that over 40 million fake Swiss watches are made each year (compared with exports of almost 26 million authentic Swiss watches in 2007) and that they generate net profits of around one billion dollars. This illicit trade, whose main victims are the most prestigious Swiss brands, is equivalent to around 6% of total Swiss watch exports for 2007.

I'll never replace my wrist watch with a phone. Sure a phone can tell the time, but without the easy and grace a watch provides. I further rely on my watch for style purposes. For many men like myself, the only desired piece of "jewelry" so to say, is a watch. My watch tells people something about myself, and I appreciate seeing it on my wrist. By switching the watch that I wear, I can communicate a different style and enjoy different wearing experiences. I'll gladly take my phone and watch together, they are not mutually exclusive.
