James Feldman knows how to make a really nice watch winder. I don't know whether he knew this about himself before or after he founded JFA to makes watch winders, but I have been very impressed with the company's JFA Four Watch Winder. Further, JFA watch winders are made in Germany.
Limes Watch Company hails from popular watch manufacturing Pforzheim Germany. Recently, I discussed Botta Design watches that also have their manufacturing plant in Pforzheim. Limes operates in the typical Teutonic watch making fashion of making high quality watches at relatively low prices. For the design, movement, fit, finish, price, and overall experience, a Swiss watch will never beat the sheer efficiency and consistency of German offerings. Germans really put the industrialization into watch making with a craftsman twist, while Swiss watches are still made with varying degrees of elitism and maintenance of traditional ideals.Read more ›

Many people are going to love the Ocean7 bracelets with their five link design. The bracelets vary in size from 22-24mm which is on the larger end, but look great. The more links a bracelet has, the more comfortable it tends to be as it can drape over your wrist with more ease. Less links tend to indicate cheaper watches which fit more "stiffly." Other than than the steel or titanium bracelets, you can get inexpensive rubber or silicon bracelets. These combined with one of Ocean7's titanium watches will make for an impressive, and very light watch.Read more ›
Other fine details on the Marcello C. Diavolo abound and are a combination of enjoyable aesthetic and ergonomic functionality. You get the distinct impression that a team of dedicated people sat around endlessly to discuss the finer points of the Diavolo's design and construction. Marcello C. wanted to give the Diavolo more interesting screws on the lugs than the typical fare, but at the same time wanted its owner to easily change the strap themselves. So they chose hex screws which look good, but are no so uncommon as to make finding a tool difficult. A dedicated tool is available, given to authorized dealers, and can be purchased separately from Marcello C. There are actually a number of customization options available for the Diavolo, but you need to ask Marcello C. about what they have currently available. If you get a Diavolo watch from Marcello C. directly or an authorized dealer, be sure to ask what else is available for the Diavolo, or any other watch for that matter.Read more ›
Schwarzenegger: No one said looking good would come cheap. Here the Schwarzenegger watch is the bargain of the two. The pictured rose gold Schwarzenegger watch retails for just over ,000. For that money, you could barely buy a Hummer H2, and not even close to Schwarzenegger's preferred vehicle, the Hummer H1.
Everyone, I will be away until Wednesday February 27, 2008 due to my being out of town. Most likely I will have some stimulating watches news, experiences, and stories upon my return. Stay tuned until then, and keep your eyes on your wrists!
The new C1 Tourbillon Gravity from Concord doesn't just defy gravity, it defies imagination! Do not expect to see this watch in a store near you...ever!
The Junghans Aviator Chronograph is available with a leather strap or steel bracelet. Size is 42.5mm wide. The face is sapphire crystal, and the bezel is nicely tuned to be functional but not a copy of the Breitling. Junghans character abounds in this watch, and I believe it is an excellent direction from the atomic watch experts. Junghans is one of those companies that has been around for a very long time and know how to make a solid and well built watch, using the latest technology (they were one of the firsts to utilize carbon fiber in their watches). Here they begin to flex their design muscles and enter a new realm of interesting and useful watch products. Expect pricing to be reasonable and I am guess about 00 or less.

To top it all off, this Citizen Campanola would not be complete without its familiar and welcomed sonnerie function (chiming), that when activated will tell you what time it through a series of charming sounding chimes. This feature is available on most, but not all Campanola watches. This is a warm looking watch that is as eye catching as it is functional. No wonder that the Citizen Campanola line is so sought after. This one is being offered at an amazing price.Read more ›

The watch buying landscape is relatively interesting as retail industries go. Most interesting or rare watches fall within the "luxury item" group given their pricing. A distinct feature of this group involves a good deal of efforts to keep prices high. High prices don't necessarily just mean high profits for the retailer. A psychological effect to the consumer of keeping prices high is to elevate the status of a product, given the existence of a suitable market willing to pay for high status goods that is. In this arena, watches that are priced higher have the illusion of more prestige, rarity, and class. While often times you get what you pay for, the price of a watch is not always going to be commensurate with ownership experience or overall satisfaction. The truth is that watch pricing is a game, and a game that watch companies fight to win.

Skeletonized watches are popular right now, and named for the view (complete or partial) of the watch movement in the dial. Some skeletonized watches provide glimpses all the way through the watch, while others provide mere hints of the gears and mechanism which together power the watch. The reason skeletonized watches are popular is because they offer mechanical credibility. No one needs a mechanical watch, but its nice to know that your timepiece is a sophisticated piece of machinery, and there is no better way to show that than by actually showing you such machinery.
If you like watches enough, you enjoy talking about them. Chances are however that you know more people that don't care about them than those who suggest you go browse at a watch store. How is it that liking watches to us makes so much sense to us while the concept is lukewarm at best when mentioned to others?
Bauhaus design is difficult to describe, but has German origination and is deeply focused on function. Though it resembles minimalism, it is not that strictly speaking. For me, it is more a minimalist version of art deco or art nouveau. The real display of Bauhaus aesthetic is on the face of the watch. The rest of it is more or less standard UTS fare, which is not bad by any means.Read more ›
