Here are just some images of the many different watches that MKII (MkII) offers. Each is very classic in look and feel, and reminds you of military or professional watches that you might know and love. An exciting new model this year is the MKII Kingston, which is a series of homage watches to early Rolex Submariners. Collectors will know exactly what MKII is going for.
The Xtreme-1 collection includes three new Azimuth watch models. This includes the SEA-HUM 3TZ (three time zones), the SEA-HUM GMT, and the Xtreme Deep Diver (with the latter being the best or worst watch depending on how you see it).
To further me gently incestuous message, Patek Philippe even clarifies, "the focus of the visual is on the special intimacy that mothers and daughters share." Damn straight it is. Is this a product of a sick mind or a reasonable interpretation of the ad. To be fair, most of the other "Something truly precious holds its beauty forever" ads aren't as suggestive - but to me, this one is. Maybe that is what Patek is going for? A little flirty and naughty to sell luxury women's watches. On the other hand, my mere suggestion of this might make Mr. Stern (CEO of Patek Philippe) flip out, forbid all marketing communication to aBlogtoRead.com and anything else that Ariel Adams writes for, and pull the ads. Which of course, would be freakin' hilarious. Sadly, I don't think Patek has that sense of humor. If you like, you can actually check out some more of the ads in this campaign here.

Next is my favorite of the bunch, the Anonimo D-Date II (new style of the original D-Date watch). The watch is a bit smaller at 43mm wide and in black toned sand-blasted steel. The blackening process is not PVD, but uses something called Ox-Pro, as well as Drass. I honestly don't know enough about these exotic processes, but Ox-Pro is for making the steel black and Drass is supposed a process to make the sand-blasted steel highly anti-reflective and anti-corrosive. Then you have the polished and brushed 4N tone 18k gold (which it uses again on the crown a bit). Style here is a bit more classic Anonimo with the arrow style hour markers and the signature hands. Not to mention the four placed Arabic numeral hour markers. The watch is attached to a high quality Kodiak coated leather strap (for extreme salt water resistance). The watch is water resistant to 500 meters and I believe has a helium escape valve on the left side of the case. Inside the watch is a modified Swiss ETA 2834-2 automatic movement, that has the day and date moved to the top and bottom of the dial. A really nice clean military look with some added luxury and an attractive masculine look. Price is ,800.

Against the charcoal black dial, the polished steel hands look very attractive. In some lighting situations they blend together a bit, but not too much. Legibility for the watch tends to be better than one expect expects. This is aided by the very easy to see sloped chapter ring, with hour and minute markers applied to it. Also, the Seiko SNR005 has an AR (anti-reflective) coated on one side sapphire crystal that gives the dial almost no glare. This makes viewing the dial a delight.
Also in the mix is the now famous IWC Pilot's Watch Classic Double Chronograph Edition Top Gun, with its dyslexic name, but coherent appeal. Really a cool watch (and by the way I was pleased to learn that Robin Williams wears one). I personally love the Aquatimer models. You might be curious about the white dialed version with the orange indicators - that is a special limited edition model available at a particular IWC boutique I believe.
The watch is large but really comfortable. These watches are meant to make a statement. At 47mm wide, I am surprised the piece fits so well on my wrist, but it does. Case is in steel and black PVD coated. Stefan opted for a thin bezel so that you could get maximum dial size. This design is actually quite uncommon on pieces this big. Though at the same time future Stefan Johansson Vaxjo watches are going to have a case and bezel redesign. The smooth looking black case is not the highlight of the piece, and the design makes that clear. The case is good looking and comfy, but like I said, your eyes are pulled toward the dial. The Mark VIII line has quite a lot of dial treatments to choose from. Stefan likes playing with the look. Each has a common personality though, and I think you will appreciate how he plays with the core concept that is the watch. The watches each contain a decorated Swiss ETA automatic Valjoux 7750 chronograph movement. The subsidiary seconds dial at 9 o'clock is removed for a more symmetrical dial. If you need to count the seconds, you can simply use the chronograph.
